you're the fiscal cliff

by Donna Kuhn

the bed is a church
u have a plate for
him so he can take
off without u

the tall building is me
a plate of men
very uncooked

your eyebrow is a church
sleepwalk me, work is bed
the bed is scared, u again

u lose your soup
talk and sleep
she is a bed

i can't serve u
i don't know u
i say i lost u once

u can get worse
stay, this bed is
very tall and has
long braids

i hope i'm not in boston
u died and i call u, u look
at me but u keep walking
away; i say think

u died and u sleep
the floor, she is never
there; you're in boston
and u died

woo woo woo woo woo
woo woo woo, i can't
settle down; your soup
takes off without u

you're the fiscal cliff
i can't know u, i'm done
i can't settle down and
sleep walk, someone
else
