Poem by Larry Gilmore

08/26/2012

I walk after midnight
looking

grabbed from heart’s light
a fistful of beams thrown

sweet incandescence
sparkling in the dark

a negative upon the white page
a light inside the mind

staccato scenes between reflectings
this moment broken

rugged hand opening chrysanthemum
white blossom blood flecked meaning

covering loss
ad hoc burns

dwelling in the flame
the way lit through the dark

I walk
